A doge domain is a readable name such as shibe.doge that is recorded on the Dogecoin blockchain and owned by a Dogecoin address. Instead of sharing a 34-character address that starts with D, you share a short name people can remember and type. On DNS, the Doge Name Service at dogenames.market, every doge domain is inscribed as a Doginal, so it is a real on-chain object that sits in your wallet next to your DOGE.

How a doge domain is different from a web domain

A .doge domain is not an ICANN domain like .com and is not rented from a registrar. Nobody can switch it off for an unpaid invoice. The record lives in a Dogecoin transaction, and whoever holds the inscription holds the name. That makes doge domains closer to a collectible identity than a hosting product: you can keep one, gift one, or sell one, and anyone can check who owns it by looking at the chain.

There are separate efforts to bring a .doge top-level domain to the regular internet. Those are web domains that need a browser or resolver to support them. Doge domains on DNS are Dogecoin-native names and work today without anyone's permission.

What you can do with a doge domain

Which endings are available?

DNS supports three endings. .doge is the short, classic one. .dogecoin is the long form and home of the 999 Club numbers. .doginals is for collectors and creators in the Doginals scene. The same label can be registered separately under each ending, so moon.doge, moon.dogecoin and moon.doginals are three different names. See Dogecoin domains and Doginals names for more on each one.

Name rules

A label can use lowercase letters a-z, digits 0-9 and hyphens (not at the start or end), plus emoji and non-Latin scripts. Each part can be up to 63 characters. Underscores, spaces and punctuation are not allowed. Uppercase is folded to lowercase, so SHIBE.doge and shibe.doge are the same name.

What does a doge domain cost?

During launch the name itself is 0 DOGE. You pay only the Dogecoin network fee for the inscription, and the exact amount is shown before you confirm. There is no yearly renewal in the current release.

How to get one

Search the name, connect a Dogecoin wallet that supports Doginals and confirm the inscription. The full walk-through is in how to register a doge domain.
