How to register a doge domain
Step-by-step guide to registering a .doge, .dogecoin or .doginals name: pick a name, connect a Dogecoin wallet, confirm the inscription and find it in My Names.
Register a name now →Registering a .doge domain takes a few minutes and needs only a Dogecoin wallet with a little DOGE for the network fee. This guide also works for .dogecoin and .doginals names.
Before you start
- A Dogecoin wallet that supports Doginals inscriptions, installed in your browser.
- A small amount of DOGE to cover the network fee. The exact fee is shown before you sign.
- A few name ideas, in case your first choice is taken.
Step 1: Search for a name
Go to the DNS homepage and type the name you want. Results show availability for .doge, .dogecoin and .doginals at the same time. Taken names link to their owner's profile, and you will see suggestions for close alternatives.
Step 2: Check the name rules
Use lowercase a-z, digits and hyphens (not at the start or end), or emoji. Each part can be up to 63 characters. No spaces or underscores. Uppercase letters are treated as lowercase.
Step 3: Connect your wallet
Click Connect wallet and approve the connection in your wallet. DNS only sees your public address. It will never ask for your seed phrase. If any site asks for it, close it.
Step 4: Confirm the inscription
Click Register. DNS briefly holds the name for you and prepares a commit transaction and a reveal transaction. Review the fee and sign in your wallet. During launch the name itself costs 0 DOGE.
Step 5: Wait for confirmation
Dogecoin blocks arrive about once a minute. Your name shows as pending, then confirmed, usually within a few minutes. You can close the page; the registration continues on chain.
Step 6: Use your name
Open My Names to see it. Share your profile at dogenames.market/name/yourname.doge, add it to your X bio, or list it on the marketplace.
Troubleshooting
- The name was taken while I was signing. Holds prevent most clashes. If the network says another inscription came first, nothing is charged for the name; pick another.
- It has been pending a long time. Busy blocks can delay confirmation. Leave it; the status updates on its own.
- I do not see the name in my wallet. Some wallets hide text inscriptions. It is still at your address; check My Names on DNS.
