Dogecoin domains explained

Dogecoin domains turn a long DOGE address into a short name you own. Compare .doge, .dogecoin and .doginals endings and register one in a few minutes.

Dogecoin domains are names that live on the Dogecoin blockchain itself. They give a wallet a human-readable identity, the same idea as ENS on Ethereum or SNS names on Bitcoin, but built on Dogecoin inscriptions. DNS (dogenames.market) lets you search, register and trade them under three endings: .doge, .dogecoin and .doginals.

Why use a Dogecoin domain?

Dogecoin addresses are long strings like D8vF…q2Lz. They are easy to mistype and hard to recognise. A Dogecoin domain gives you something you can put in a bio, say out loud, or print on a sticker. Because it is an on-chain asset, it also works as a collectible: short and meaningful names change hands on the name marketplace.

.doge vs .dogecoin vs .doginals

Each ending is its own namespace, so you can hold the same word under all three.

How Dogecoin domains are stored

When you register, DNS builds an inscription that contains the name and sends it to your address in a commit and reveal pair of Dogecoin transactions. Indexers read those inscriptions in order, and the first valid inscription of a name wins. That rule is public and the same for everyone, so ownership can be checked independently. Technical details are in how Doge DNS works.

Is it safe?

DNS never asks for a seed phrase and never holds your names. You sign transactions in your own wallet. As with any inscription, keep names in a wallet that understands Doginals so you do not spend the coin that carries the name by accident.

Cost

Launch pricing is 0 DOGE for the name; you pay only the network fee, shown before you sign. There is no annual renewal in the current release.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Dogecoin domain?

A human-readable name such as yourname.dogecoin or yourname.doge that is inscribed on the Dogecoin blockchain and owned by a Dogecoin wallet.

Which Dogecoin domain ending should I choose?

.doge is the short classic, .dogecoin is the full-word version and home of the 999 Club, and .doginals is aimed at the inscription community. Each is a separate namespace.

Is a Dogecoin domain the same as an ENS name?

It is the same idea, a readable name for a wallet, but it lives on the Dogecoin blockchain as an inscription instead of an Ethereum smart contract.

Can I sell a Dogecoin domain?

Yes. List it on the DNS marketplace or transfer it from your wallet to any Dogecoin address.
